South West Ag Partners Inc. was established on March 1st, 2001 as the result of a merger between St. Clair Agri Services Ltd. and Kent County Fertilizers Ltd.
St. Clair Agri Services Limited was an integrated crop input, grain handling and food-grade soybean processing company established in 1997 as a joint venture between Hazzard’s Farm Service Limited and Cargill limited. Hazzard’s Farm Service Ltd had previously been established in 1947 by James R. (Russ) Hazzard.
Kent County Fertilizer was established in 1963 by Maurice Neutens, Al DeWitte and Terry Youlton as a fertilizer and crop input products and service company in joint venture with Cyanamid Canada. In 1989, Cargill Limited purchased the Cyanamid Canada business and assumed the role of joint-venture partner in Kent County Fertilizers.
